| | We should be doing anything and everything possible to develop geothermal energy technologies. This is a for the most part untapped area of enormous alternative energy potential, as it simply utilizes the energy being naturally produced by the earth herself. Substantial amounts of power are present under the surface crust on which we move and have our being. All we need do is tap into it and harness it.
At the Earths' heart, the temperature is 60 times higher than that of water being boiled. The tremendous heat creates pressures that exert themselves only just a couple of miles below us, and these pressures contain huge amounts of energy. Superheated fluids in the form of magma, which we watch the power and energy of every time there is a volcanic eruption, await our tapping. These fluids also trickle to the surface as steam and emerge from vents. We can construct our own vents, and we can construct out own containment chambers for the magma and convert all of this energy into electricity to light and heat up our homes. In the building of a geothermal power plant, a well would be dug at the place where there is a good source of magma or heated fluid. Piping would be fitted down into the source, and the liquids forced to the surface to produce the needed steam. The steam would turn a turbine engine, which would make the electricity.
You'll find criticisms of geothermal energy tapping which prevent its being used on the large scale which it should be. The critics express that study and research to find a resourceful location is too costly and takes up too much time. Then there is more great expense needed to build a geothermal power plant, and there is no certainty of the plant turning a profit. Some geothermal areas, once tapped, might be found to not produce a large enough amount of steam for the power plant to be worthwhile or reliable. And we hear from the environmentalists who worry that bringing up magma can bring up potentially harmful substances along with it.
However, the great positive aspects of geothermal energy would subsume these criticisms if only we would explore it more. The fact that geothermal energy is just the energy of the planet earth herself means it does not produce any pollutants. Geothermal energy is quite efficient - the efforts needed to channel it are minimal after a site is found and a plant is set up. Geothermal plants, moreover, do not need to be as huge as electrical plants, giant dams, or atomic energy facilities - the environment would thus be less disrupted. And, needless to express, it is an alternative form of energy - making use of it would mean we become that much less dependent on oil and coal. Perhaps most prominently of all - we are never, ever going to run out of geothermal energy, and it is not a commodity that would continuously become more high-priced in terms of real dollars as time passes, since it is everywhere. Geothermal energy would be, in the end, very cheap, after investigation and power plant building costs are recouped.
There are also other new, health-related solutions which have been made in the effort to find new sources of energy, from zero point energy. To find out more information about these try researching words such as "nano wand", "o point energy wand" or "energy wands" in your favorite Internet search engine.
There has been much debate about what is often called "free" energy-energy that can supposedly, with the right technology, be drawn straight out of the atmosphere, and in very abundant supply.
The best method of educating young people about alternative energy production that this writer has ever witnessed is the use of the PicoTurbine Company's kits, books, and projects.
Vertical windmills aren't such a recent concept. In fact, despite that we are accustomed to seeing horizontal axis windmills, the first windmills invented were the vertical ones. The first functional types were invented in the 9th century, but their design has changed very much over the years in order to get a higher efficiency from them.
If you're willing to give a new look to your country house, then a decorative windmill might be exactly what you are looking for. They come in all the shapes and colors that you can think of, and they are the perfect accessory for your garden or yard.
There are many different kinds of free energy devices including the magnet generator that have been developed over the years and each one proves that the concept works. Commercial development and manufacture of such machines however, appears to have been almost non-existent.
These days, people have more and more tendency of living ecologically. Starting with food, plastic bags or energy suppliers, they all slowly turn to what used to be decades, even centuries ago. Why so?
In today's current economic climate we are all looking for ways to save money. Well today there are pieces of equipment known as Energy Saver Devices which you can install and which can help you to do just this. |
