You come across many things about the Mayan 2012 calendar and prophecies these days. And, with the latest collapse of banking establishments and companies throughout the world, earth calamities such as earthquakes and title waves, it surely seems like something is happening. But what is the genuine story behind these mayan 2012 prophecies, and if there is accuracy in the vision, what can we do regarding it?

One place to begin is at the source. What are the Mayan's asserting about the mayan 2012 calendar? Are they foretelling the expiration of the globe? They name the period we are in now going to 2012 the 'End of Time', but what does this mean?

In July of 2007, the head of the Mayan Council and all 440 Mayan tribes, Don Alejandro Cirillo, traveled from Guatemala to Sedona, Arizona to meet with Drunvalo Melchizedek to clear common misperceptions concerning the Mayan Predictions and 2012. There have been a number of others who articulated about the Mayan Calendar and 2012 in the past, but the actual Mayan Council has been purposely silent for more than 200 years. Now, for the first time in recent history are they lecturing regarding their insight and the Prophecies.

The information is very clear. This is not doomsday, but is a new commencement in humanity's consciousness. Yes, there will be important changes with the world and in the people. We are already observing this with the current collapse of old financial institutions in the world, and transformations in the earth's magnetic field. We are, as the Mayan's declare in the "End of Time", an nearly 8 year period during which the transformations will increase as they head towards 2012.

For the completely new beginnings to birth, the old, stale, ego based systems must come to an end. Whether it is old corporate structures, financial systems, or political systems, if they are based on erroneous, inauthentic system or premises, they must change. As we glide towards 2012, more and more changes will transpire. Old structures will collapse making way for new, more factual heart based models to be created.

Ac Tah, a Mayan leader who, in the past few years has come into prominence spreading his message in Mexico, says that 2012 is not the termination of life, it is really the beginning. Changes are occurring now, and will continue to take place after 2012. Humanity as a whole will rise up in mindfulness. He asserts the extent of the changes that will occur and how severe they are greatly depend on the level of human awareness. He says the best thing we all can do now is to come together in unity, regardless of race, religion, creed or belief.

There are other spiritual chieftains from Mexico, which contains one of the largest Mayan populations, who have a very much the same message. Famed author of The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruiz has recently published another book called The Fifth Agreement. He spends much of his time travelling in North America and Mexico spreading his message "Ayudame cambiar el Mundo," which means "Help me change the World," in English.
Don Miguel says the intent of changing the world is finding equilibrium between generosity and gratitude - which is an expression of true love. He goes further by saying that the earth is a living being and we humans are a portion of the organism of the earth and as such we transform the world through our energy. The way we affect energy is through awareness. So, as we go deeper into love in our energy, thoughts, feelings, words and deeds, we affect our mother, the earth, in a positive manner.

The bottom line is that even as there may be numerous changes that occur as we approach 2012 and after, and these changes can bring up anxiety of the unknown, we are living in a special time in humanity's history. What on the surface may look like calamity is really the old coming to an end in order to make way for the new. This doesn't mean that there will not be misfortune as the changes come about. When a big organization collapses many lose their jobs. When there are earthquakes, many may even lose their lives. And, while such things have always happened in human history, it does not negate the difficulties and catastrophes that occur. At the same time, however, according to the Mayans and other spiritual masters, in the bigger picture what is happening has been destined to happen for a very long time. And most significantly, it is leading humans to a much better world to dwell in.

This is a great little book with some heavy ideas. If followed generally, these suggestions can help you reduce a great amount of stress by helping people avoid thought and behavior patterns that create frustration, blame, hurt feelings and other negative emotions.
